Fees are being waived due to current dry conditions, and the initiative aims to ease pressure on feed supply.
Mayor Cr Paul Tatchell said he hopes the free permits will support local landowners while protecting public safety.
“We understand how tough things are on the land right now,” he said.
“Waiving this fee makes it easier for farmers to access additional grazing space during these conditions, while ensuring the community and our roads remain safe.
“We’re doing what we can to be flexible, and we encourage landowners to apply and to speak to us about their needs.”
Permit holders must install stock-proof fencing, display warning signage, supervise livestock and return them to the property by dusk, remove infrastructure after grazing, and provide $10 million public liability insurance. Any fencing, including electric, must have signage and not use steel posts.
