Fund your project with a Council grant
Moorabool Council’s Community Grants program provides over $250,000 to community organisations across Moorabool every year, and a new round is opening next week.
Applications for Community Grants open on August 1, with workshops and drop-in sessions planned to help community groups get approved for the funding they need.
To improve your chances of meeting the funding criteria a writing workshop and drop-in sessions will help organisations get a healthy ‘slice of the pie’.
Community Grants fall under five categories: Community Strengthening Grants ($60,000 funding pool), Community Arts and Culture Grants ($10,000 funding pool), Community Events Grants ($10,000 funding pool), Community Development Fund Grants (up to $100,000), and Sustainability and Environmental Engagement Grants ($10,400 funding pool).
On Wednesday 27 July and Tuesday 2 August, both from 6 – 7 pm, Council’s Community Development team will be holding online writing workshops via Microsoft Teams. To register, email [email protected] with a preferred date, and you’ll receive a link to the workshop.
Drop-in sessions will be held on Thursday 4 August from 8.30 am – 5 pm at the Lerderderg Library, and Monday 8 August from 8.30 am – 5 pm at the Ballan Council Offices – you can book a date and time slot of your choice by emailing [email protected], or by dropping in on the day.

Applications close at 5 pm on 31 August, with Council assessing applications in October and November, before notifying applicants on the outcome in December.
