MOORABOOL Shire Council residents will have the opportunity to have coffee with a councillor in Bacchus Marsh next Wednesday.
The event, held at Village Bean Coffee Shop, aims to provide residents with an opportunity to discuss local issues and opportunities.
Cr Rod Ward said the initiative is a great way to connect with councillors in an informal environment.
“The coffee with a councillor initiative started two years ago to give community members the opportunity to connect with councillors in an informal way at various venues across the shire, which could be advertised ahead of time,” Cr Ward said.
“There is no restriction on what can be raised with councillors although it is important for community members to remember that operational matters and requests for service should always be made directly to Council.
“Council works to make Moorabool Shire a vibrant place to live and work, and hearing about the community’s thoughts and aspirations is key in achieving that aim.”
Similar events will be held in Ballan, Darley, Blackwood and Bungaree in coming months.
