APPLICATIONS are now open for the Victorian Government’s Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund (RCSIF) and the 2024-25 Local Sports Infrastructure Fund (LSIF).

There are five funding streams in the Regional Community Sports Infrastructure Fund, which has been set up to help regional communities plan and build everything from indoor stadiums and aquatic facilities, upgrades for women and girls, community facilities and all abilities infrastructure.

Additionally, grants of up to $50,000 are available via the RCSIF to help boost participation for people with disability at the new or upgraded facilities.

The RCSIF is backed by the Regional Community Sport Development Fund and the All Abilities Sport Fund.

Since the first round of the program, more than $20 million has been invested in 26 projects across the state.

Through the LSIF, metropolitan councils can apply for funds towards a range of community sports infrastructure and active recreation projects that will benefit local clubs and communities, including sports courts, lights, change rooms, playgrounds and skate parks.

Minister for Community Sport Ros Spence said the programs are making sure all Victorians, no matter where they live, have world class sporting facilities.

“By upgrading facilities and removing barriers to entry, we are making sure even more people can get involved in local sport in their own communities,” she said.

Applications for the LSIF close on 17 February next year and applications for the RCSIF on 17 March next year.
