The expense for residents of having a snake removed from the front door welcome mat, or from the shed or backyard, may ease in Moorabool if a pending petition is successful.
To date, the cost of a snake removal in Moorabool is borne by the resident however, in surrounding metropolitan shires, it is a free service.
In what would be a first for Moorabool Shire Council, Jarrod Bingham, a former Councillor for East Moorabool and professional snake catcher, believes there’s no reason Council can’t pay for the service when neighbouring councils can.
