Hospital roof to be replaced
A local hospital will have part of their roof replaced after the State Government announced $1.2 million to be invested.
The Bacchus Marsh hospital will receive a total of $1,264,000 to replace the roof between the Maternity Ward and the Theatre, to prevent water leakage and support mechanical system installation.
Member for Melton, Steve McGhie, said they are delivering better health outcomes for the community with modern services and facilities, while creating local jobs.
“Everyone deserves access to quality health care facilities and services close to home, that’s why we’re investing in the Bacchus Marsh Hospital,” he said.
The funding is part of $120 million under Round 5 of the Regional Health Infrastructure Fund (RHIF), to be shared by nearly 80 rural and regional hospitals, community health services, and Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations.
The RHIF program has now invested $490 million in over 470 regional healthcare projects across the state, and created hundreds of jobs.
