Members of local CFA fire brigades are among 5000 volunteers across the State to receive new state of the art helmets this month.
The CFA distributed 216 helmets to members from 19 brigades in District 15, 30 of these will go to the Bacchus Marsh unit. Ballan group of brigades received 12.
Captain of the Bacchus Marsh CFA, Phil Clayden, said the helmets are primarily used for internal attack of structural fires and will make their job easier.
