IF re-elected to Federal Government on 3 May, the Australian Labor Party has pledged to allocate more than $1 million to crime prevention across the region.

A total of $1.5 million has been committed to fund the installation of closed-circuit television technology across the Hawke electorate.

Federal Member for Hawke Sam Rae said more CCTV cameras would be installed in Moorabool Shire Council, alongside Melton City Council and Hume City Council.

A statement from Mr Rae’s office said the aim is to strengthen community safety and support, particularly in Bacchus Marsh, but also Melton and Sunbury.

“A re-elected Albanese Labor Government will deliver more CCTV cameras to help ensure people in Melton, Bacchus Marsh, Sunbury and surrounding areas are safer and more secure,” Mr Rae said.

“This $1.5 million election commitment is about tackling the issues that matter most to people in Hawke.”
