LIBERAL candidate for Hawke Simmone Cottom has pledged $125,000 for the Blackwood War Memorial if a Coalition government is elected at this weekend’s election.
The project will aim to enhance the heritage of the area for residents, veterans, history enthusiasts and visitors, and provide a place for remembrance by refurbishing the memorial.
Ms Cottom said it is important to recognise the sacrifices made for Australia by servicemen and women.
“I’m proud to be able to deliver this meaningful investment to pay respect to the Australians who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation,” she said.
“It will ensure the memorial remains a place of local pride and respect for generations to come.”
