Making Young Street safer
Roadworks will take place these school holidays, with Moorabool Shire Council conducting a series of improvements planned to make Young Street in Bacchus Marsh safer.
Three improvements will begin works this month: a raised intersection at Young Street/Dickson Street, a modified T-intersection at Young Street/ McFarland Street, and a raised pedestrian crossing at Young Street, between McFarland and Lerderderg Streets.
Both vehicle and pedestrian safety will be improved by the works, by reducing speed and improving driver behaviour.
Works began Monday 19 September, with most planned for completion during the school holidays, while minor works will continue until 14 October subject to weather.
Every effort will be made to minimise disruption, however disruptions to traffic during construction are expected.
Contractors will notify nearby property owners in advance if vehicle access will be affected.
Motorists and pedestrians are urged to approach the area with caution, observe all directions, traffic control devices and detour signs, to ensure the safety of the public and the construction workers.
