Poisonous mushrooms are dangerous for pets as well as people.

Ingesting them can cause a range of illnesses in pets including gastro-like illness, severe life-threatening disease and death.

Watch out for wild mushrooms growing in your yard and where you walk your dog. If you see any, remove them and dispose of them safely to prevent accidental poisoning.

If your pet has eaten a wild mushroom, call the free Animal Poisons Centre on 1300 869 738 for advice.
