COMMUNITY groups in need of funding are being encouraged to attend upcoming information sessions, as the latest round of Council funding launches.

From 1 March until 31 March, local non-profit organisations can apply for Moorabool Shire Council’s Community Grants Program, which offers more than $270,000 every year.

The funding is open to non-profit organisations to deliver projects that benefit the Moorabool community, with previous recipients including the Ballan Community Street Band, the Pentland Hills Landcare Group, and the Bacchus Marsh Platypus Alliance.

To help community groups plan their application, Moorabool Shire Council is running three drop-in sessions to discuss project ideas.

The first will be on Monday 4 March at Ballan Neighbourhood House from 10.30am to 6.30pm, followed by a session on Wednesday 6 March at St Martin’s Chapel at Blackwood, from 9am to 12pm.

The final drop-in session will be held at Lerderderg Library in Bacchus Marsh, from 10.30am to 6.30pm.

For more information on the funding streams available, eligibility requirements or to reserve a drop-in session time, visit Moorabool Shire Council’s website and search ‘Community Grants’.

The community development team can also be called on 5366 7100, to discuss project ideas and how they can be funded.
