Ninja Max represents Marsh

A young Bacchus Marsh landscaper will compete for this year’s title of Australia’s Ninja Warrior, with his episode set to air on Channel 9 next week.
Now in its third season, Australian Ninja Warrior is based on a Japanese show that pushes potential contestants through a rigorous series of obstacles for the opportunity to win a cash prize, starting at $100,000.
Max Closter said he had always wanted to compete on the show since it began, but couldn’t enter at the time as he was underage.
“I was watching the show for two seasons and I said to my parents, ‘one day I’m going to try out for this show’, so when I turned 18, I just wanted to give it a shot,” he said.
As for his preparation, the 18-year-old trained at a gym in Ringwood with obstacles similar to those featured on the show.
A sense of determination is something Max is no stranger to, spending 10-years with a speech therapist to overcome a severe speech impediment.
As for representing Bacchus Marsh on the big screen, Max said he’s “pretty excited to represent Bacchus Marsh”, but admitted he is “a bit nervous”.
Max will compete for the title of Australian Ninja Warrior on Monday 15 July
Australian Ninja Warrior airs tonight (Tuesday) at 7.30pm on Nine and 9Now and continues Sunday, Monday and Tuesday at 7.30pm.
