The acronym LGBTIQA+ stands for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and asexual, and the Victorian Pride Lobby group is using the Council elections to canvas candidates to ‘turn local government rainbow’.
Victorian Pride Lobby Co-Convenor, Nevena Spirovska said the group has called on all candidates to pledge support for a more accessible and inclusive Moorabool Shire Council before the end of the campaign, and has hit out at the incumbent Central Moorabool Ward councillor Paul Tatchell for what she claims, he labelled a pledge to support the priorities of LGBTIQA+ people as “divisive”.
