MOORABOOL Shire Council is seeking nominations from community members interested in joining a community asset committee.
Community asset committees include volunteers who manage the operations at halls and recreation reserves on behalf of the Shire.
“Our community asset committees are made up of community volunteers who directly manage council halls and recreation reserves, with good support from council officers,” Moorabool Shire mayor Cr Paul Tatchell said.
“It’s a great volunteering opportunity as volunteers work closely with their local communities to make sure facilities are activated, accessible and well maintained.”
Community members who enjoy working collaboratively are invited to apply for the four-year term, which runs until 2029.
Applicants are encouraged to contact current committee members to find out more information and receive a nomination form.
The form is also available on the Moorabool Shire Council website.
“The volunteers play a vital role in creating community connection through their local knowledge and dedication,” Cr Tatchell said.
“We look for volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences.
“We want people who are passionate about their local communities, so if this sounds like you, find out more and apply.”
Applicants are asked to email their nomination form to [email protected] .
Nominations close on Monday 7 April.
Each nominee will take part in a phone call before a community voting process for each facility.
