Meet the Plains-wanderer, a small, native bird that only exists in grassland plains of Victoria and New South Wales.
Short, sparse native grass provides plenty of space to forage for food but enough to hide and feel camouflaged from its predators.

Parks Victoria said these unique birds’ main threats are foxes and the conversion of native grassland for agricultural use.
