A DRAFT plan is out now for the first park many travellers see upon entering Moorabool Shire, and Council wants to know what the community thinks.

Moorabool Shire Council has put together a draft Federation Park Concept Plan for Federation Park in Darley, and is seeking the community’s feedback to further develop the document.

The park serves as a major stop-over destination between Bacchus Marsh and Gisborne, and Council has acknowledged that its amenities are looking tired and require replacement and expansion, to facilitate the area’s growing population.

As part of the Federation Park Reserve Renewal Project, Council has put out concept designs for ‘key features for consideration’, the playspace, and terraced seating and a lookout platform.

Some ideas raised in the key features for consideration document include local artwork on the toilet block that could be symbolic of the Darley Training Camp recruits, providing a shelter for shade at the playspace, and path treatments using different surface finishes.

The concept plans are all available to download and look over from Moorabool Shire Council’s Engagement Hub website, on the Federation Park Reserve Renewal page.

The opportunity to provide feedback on the draft Federation Park Concept Plan closes 11.55pm on Wednesday 19 May.

The Federation Park Reserve Renewal Project will be delivered in two separate stages, based on separate funding from Council and a Federal Government Investing In Our Communities grant.
