Podcast on national stage
By Lachlan Ellis
Thousands of podcasts are published in Australia, and one podcast recorded here in Moorabool has been judged as one of the best.
‘OK Smart-ass’ is a podcast created by Ballan’s Patrick Bonello and Tor Roxburgh, and has this year been named one of six finalists in the Best Entertainment category of the Australian Podcast Awards.
The podcast covers developments in technology that affect us, such as solar powered cars and voice digitization, and the first episode was published back in March 2021.
Mr Bonello said it was an honour to have his and Ms Roxburgh’s podcast up there with some of the best in Australia.
“It’s really exciting for us. We started doing the podcast as a bit of a passion project, we both have a real interest in technology and the implications for us, and so to see that our podcast is up there with some really high-ranking podcasts is a blast,” Mr Bonello told the Moorabool News.
“It’s on the national stage…to have our podcast recognised is a really big accolade, it’s something we’re really proud of. We love what we do, and we love the podcast. I suppose it’s very humbling, because I know how many people are out there doing podcasts. Even here in the Shire, there a lot of really good podcasts that some really good people are working on.”
The winners will be announced on Monday 21 November at a live ceremony in Sydney, hosted by Mitch Churi.
