Prepare your bushfire plan
Bushfires might not be in the forefront of your mind with the recent rain and floods, but the CFA is urging Victorians to plan ahead.
It’s always better to be safe than sorry, and with summer almost upon us, the CFA is reminding people not to get caught out last minute if a fire is approaching.
Before the fire season starts, it’s important to practise how to pack the car, to make sure you can do it quickly and easily in an emergency situation.
Important items and information should be kept in a safe place – it’s a good idea to keep photos and information on a USB flash drive or external hard drive, in case physical copies are damaged.
You should also prepare an emergency kit, with essential items to including being change of clothes, toiletries, medicine/first aid, your mobile phone and charger, water, wool blankets, contact information for your doctor, council and power company, additional face masks, hand sanitiser, and antibacterial wipes.
