Put your talent into ‘pop culture’
Young Moorabool artists will have the chance to win some cash and have their artwork on display at an art show, thanks to an art competition running until June.
The Moorabool Shire Council Youth Art Awards is a collaboration between Moorabool Youth Services, Moorabool Youth Action Group (YAG), and the Bacchus Marsh Rotary Club, and the theme this year is ‘Pop Culture’.
Young people living or studying in the Moorabool Shire are invited to enter, with winners from four age categories to be awarded: 12-15, 16-18, 19-21, and 22-25.
Entries will be viewed by YAG and a Moorabool Shire Councillor, and will be considered based on impact and storytelling, composition and technical skills, design and style, and light, colour and shading
The four $100 prizes are funded by the Bacchus Marsh Rotary Club, and entrants will also have the opportunity for their work to be displayed at the Bacchus Marsh Rotary Art Show at Bacchus Marsh Town Hall on Friday 10 June.
Entries can be placed on A2, A3 or A4 size, and either mounted on card, corflute, or framed. All entries must include an application form, which can be obtained by emailing [email protected].
Entries close on Friday 3 June. You can submit your entry in-person at Studio 22 Tuesdays from 3.30 pm to 6.00 pm or Friday 3 June from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm, or at Ballan Youth Zone Wednesdays from 4.00 pm to 6.30 pm.
