Rates notices will be hitting letterboxes soon and the following information and graphic might help if you have queries around property valuations and the Essential Services Rate Cap.

The rate cap for the 2022/23 year has been set at 1.75%.

An increase in the valuation base does not change the overall value of rate revenue that Council generates.

An increase in the valuation base changes the distribution of rates across the rate base depending on the valuation shift of each property.
