Repairs to recreation sites
Forest Fire Management Victoria crews in the Midlands District have been hard at work repairing recreation sites and walking tracks in the Wombat State Forest.
The following sites were damaged during the 2021 storms and have now been repaired:
▪ Lyonville Springs
▪ Nolans Creek Picnic Area
▪ Wombat Dam Picnic Area
▪ Lerderderg River Heritage Walk
Crews have built new picnic tables, installed new fire pits, replaced bollards with rocks, improved pathways to make them more accessible and planted more native grasses.
Take the time to visit these beautiful sites in the Grampians region and try out the new amenities.
As some parts of our State are still affected by the recent flood and rain events, check for any closures before heading out at www.ffm.vic.gov.au/forest-and-road-closures.
