Revved up for car show

Car enthusiasts and the general public alike are encouraged to take a step back in automobile history at this year’s Marsh Rodders ‘Show & Shine’ Swap Meet.
The annual swap meet and car show, now in its 14th year, will see Maddingley Park turn into a hub of hot rods and other classic cars on Sunday, 20 October.
Club President Bill Wadeson said the event, which has seen the number of attendees up to 10,000, is said to be “the largest single-day car show in Victoria.”
Mr Wadeson said the event has “multiplied four to five times” since its beginnings.
The day now sees up to 1000 classic, vintage and performance cars, as well as a range of motorcycles, line the park.
As well as exhibiting cars, the club also hopes to see the whole family come along; with a range of activities including a live rock and roll band, a clown and face painting.
The event is also known for its significant contribution back into the community – Mr Wadeson said this year the club will be focusing on donations to local CFA and SES services, as “they’re the first people you want in an emergency”.
Mr Wadeson said the event is “a great way to promote Bacchus Marsh”, with local vendors providing food and drink throughout the day, as well as its proximity to the Main Street.
The Marsh Rodders ‘Show & Shine’ Swap Meet will be held on Sunday, 20 October at Maddingley Park in Bacchus Marsh.
Gates open at 6am commencing with the swap meet, with cars arriving from 8am.
Public admission is $5, with kids under-16 free.
