A SIX-WEEK community satisfaction survey has begun in a move to help Moorabool Shire Council understand the experiences of the community.
Some residents will receive a phone call between now and mid-March from independent market research agency National Field Services.
Similar surveys will take place across Victoria as part of the mandatory Local Government Performance Reporting Framework.
“Each year, a statewide community satisfaction survey is carried out throughout Victorian local governments,” CEO Derek Madden said.
“Participation in this survey is optional, but we believe strongly in its value.
“We want the best outcome for our community, so we regularly track our performance through this and other measures and report publicly on how we are doing.”
The aim of the survey is to ensure the Moorabool Shire Council is operating with transparency and accountability, and to help improve services.
“As part of our promise to residents and in line with our Customer Charter, we recognise the importance of a great experience for all,” Mr Madden said.
“Our annual community satisfaction survey is the residents’ chance to give us feedback so we can keep improving.
“Community members will be asked their perceptions of the importance of a range of council services as well as council’s performance in these areas.”
All responses are confidential, and the results will be published on the Moorabool Shire Council website.
