YOUNG people have gotten out of the cold and into local libraries these school holidays.

Program participants enjoyed a raft of activities including robotics, hands on crafts, and special NAIDOC Week workshops.

The free robotics sessions saw kids aged eight and up exploring different robot stations, each with their own educational activities.

Outside the libraries, Moorabool Shire’s Youth Services school holiday program has been pumping with games and outings such as basketball, pickleball, yoga, gallery trips, and visits to an indoor trampoline centre.

The community also celebrated NAIDOC Week with cultural education sessions, smoking ceremonies, special craft activities, and Wadawurrung storytelling.

NAIDOC Week continues until Sunday and mayor Ally Munari encouraged locals to get involved in the events.

“We’re so excited by the variety of events we’re hosting this year to celebrate NAIDOC Week, from making gum nut leaf wreaths and listening to special story times with the library team to sewing classes with the early years’ team,” she said.
