Scruffy Fella scrubs up well

A Ballan business has been named one of Australia Post’s 57 Local Business Heroes chosen from nearly 1,000 entries.

Run by Nigel Bullamore, Scruffy Fella, an online retailer of artisan beard care products, shaving gear and accessories, received a Heroes Package worth up to $5,000 in recognition of its unique and valued connection to the Ballan community.

Mr Bullamore said he is at the Ballan LPO most days of the week posting his products to his customers.

“As a modern online business shipping our hand-made products around the country, we rely on Australia Post to deliver and see them as an integral part of our business,” he said.

“It has been nearly five years of dropping off my parcels, so during this time, I have developed a friendly relationship with Mike and Rhanda, who own the post office here in Ballan,” he said.

“They kindly nominated me for the Local Heroes award, and I was absolutely stoked when I received the email saying I was selected.”
