Bacchus Marsh Fire Brigade

On Saturday 10 December, the Bacchus Marsh Fire Brigade attended an incident on the Western Highway, Hopetoun Park exit ramp.

A luxury SUV, travelling at approximately 100+kph, hit an unsecured trailer or caravan jockey wheel lying in the middle of the road.

Fortunately for the family, it only punctured the fuel tank, with 30 plus litres of fuel leaking on to the road surface and causing a major hazard.

However, it could have been a lot worse.

So, the message is – before you leave home on your Christmas holidays, secure your load, secure your trailer.
