PASSIONATE young leaders are invited to apply for next year’s Victorian Youth Congress.

The State Government initiative encourages young Victorians to have a say about issues which affect them.

Young people aged 12 to 25 from a range of background are encouraged to apply to work with the State Government to embed a youth perspective into policies.

“It has been an incredibly eye-opening and empowering experience being part of the Victorian Youth Congress over the past 12 months – especially getting the chance to co-design and conduct prototype testing of the YouthNav platform,” said member Jiawen (Yannee) Liu.

Congress members learn about government, develop professional skills and network with other young people.

No previous experience is required, and members are appointed for a one-year term with an option to extend for a second year.

“We are proud to help young Victorians to be heard and influence change and decision-making on the issues that matter to them,” said Minister for Youth Natalie Suleyman.

“Our Youth Congress is open to young Victorians from all walks of life and parts of the state – their diverse perspectives and experiences will shape our work to support young people.”

Youth Congress members have helped develop Our promise, Your future Youth Strategy 2022–2027 as well as YouthNav, an online platform which helps young people navigate aspects of their life.

Applications are open until Tuesday 15 October at youthcentral.vic.gov.au/apply-2025-victorian-youth-congress.
