A community survey is out and ready for Dales Creek residents to have their say on their local reserve.
Their local Council representative is urging the community to put forward as many ideas as possible.
Woodlands Ward Councillor and Deputy Mayor of Moorabool, Ally Munari, put a motion forward two years ago for a report into the population growth and needs of the Dales Creek community – with the survey emerging from that motion.
Cr Munari says she hopes the Reserve can become more of a hub for the Dales Creek community, following Council-funded upgrades.
“I wanted Council to consider something for the people of Dales Creek that would bring their community together, so they could more naturally come together in a communal space. What that space looks like I’m not sure yet, and we’ll be guided by the community of Dales Creek. We’re open to suggestions from young and old,” she told the Moorabool News.
Cr Munari said they really want to hear from the Dales Creek community.
“That’s why we did a letter drop for the that community, we wanted to hear exactly from them. We know by the Census statistics there’s a lot of different age groups and demographics that live in Dales Creek…we want to hear from everybody,” she said.
The survey is asking locals what improvements they want to see at Dales Creek Reserve on Acacia Avenue, whether they would support tree removal to provide improvements, and how they would prioritise certain improvements such as a playground and a bike track.
The survey is open until 13 November. To submit your feedback, visit haveyoursay.moorabool.vic.gov.au/dalescreek-reserve.
