Shire helping the community spot scams
MOORABOOL Shire Council residents are invited to attend a session at Lerderderg Library about spotting scams.
The information session, on Tuesday 4 March at 9.30am, will cover topics including spotting scams, what to do and what not to do, and where to go for help.
“The session will cover essential information about scams, including recent tax and Medicare scams, strategies for identifying scams, recommended actions and behaviours, and resources for assistance,” mayor Cr Paul Tatchell said.
“This presentation is part of Be Connected’s monthly series, delivered through a live stream format by the eSafety Commissioner.”
Cr Tatchell said it is important to support the community in identifying scams.
“Understanding how to identify and respond to scams helps protect your personal information, financial security, and overall wellbeing,” he said.
“Being informed about current scam trends and prevention strategies empowers our community to confidently navigate online spaces while keeping themselves and their information safe.”
