Shire recognised as destination employer
MOORABOOL Shire Council’s people and culture team has won the HR management category at this year’s Australian Business Awards.
The award recognised organisations that have successfully implemented initiatives and shown excellence in resource management.
Moorabool Shire Council CEO Derek Madden said he was proud of the team and thanked them for their work.
“We’re very excited and proud to have our people and culture team receive a national award, competing not just in the local government sector but against all business sectors throughout the country,” he said.
The team was recognised for its efforts to make Moorabool Shire Council a destination employer.
Using the ‘listen, understand, evolve’ technique, the team worked to build connections and trust to create transparent information sharing within the organisation.
“Our people and culture team was recognised for the incredible work they have undertaken as part of our journey towards a destination employer,” Mr Madden said.
“The destination employer tag is premised on a significant investment in organisational culture, learning and development, leadership development, reward and recognition, attraction and retention, and health and wellbeing.
“Add in recruitment revolutions, employee value propositions and industry leading flexible work practices and you quickly see why Moorabool is a great place to work.”
