It is more than just a ping or a pong, it is the fast and furious game of table tennis, played as singles or doubles.
The small hamlet of Mt Wallace, just ten-kilometres south of Ballan, recently held their annual Table Tennis Doubles Championships and hosted over 30-players.
Scott Young said it was a cold, wet and windy evening with the players coming from around the district, including Gordon and Balliang.
“There was lots of laughter and some very serious competition and after about three-hours we were down to the final undefeated two teams,” he said.
Mr Young said the Grand Final was hotly contested over three-sets with a vocal crowd cheering both teams on.
“Eventually Andrew Kerr and Phil Lloyd were victorious over Andrew Wells and Ash Mckenzie.”
The Mt Wallace Table Tennis Club is based at the local hall and plays on a Tuesday night with nine-teams involved in the winter competition.
