Women are the focus of an evening dedicated to health, women’s health.
Professional speakers will cover menopause and menstruation topics right down to sexual health, mental and emotional wellbeing.
The free Women’s Health Forum is a collaboration of Women’s Health Grampians and Moorabool Shire Council and will be held this Wednesday 11 March, as part of International Women’s Day (Sunday 8 March).
Sally Jones (Community Strengthening MSC GM) said the event was derived from a survey completed in 2019 by female members in the shire.
“Council’s public health plan 2017-2021 highlighted a strategy to increase awareness of sexual health issues for older women,” Ms Jones said.
“A survey indicated that sexual and reproductive health, mental health, and physical health were things that women wanted to hear more about.
“It was decided that a women’s forum was a great way for women to come together to hear from a number of speakers and experts on topics that were important to them,” she said.
Ms Jones said there was no better time than International Women’s Day to be promoting women’s health and wellbeing.”
Multiple topics relating to women’s health will be covered with a light supper, information tables, giveaways and opportunities for question throughout.
