Festive cheer was brought to the rotunda in Bacchus Marsh and Ballan with local musician’s playing their tunes in December.

Performances were conducted in a relaxed mood environment with the Moorabool Live and Local Rotunda Sessions, put on by the Moorabool Shire Council, kicking off at the McLean Reserve Ballan with the Honeyfields, a folk trio from Blackwood, followed by festive tunes from The Nelson Family hailing from Gordon.

In Bacchus Marsh, the week prior to Christmas, the Jen Hawley Duo played an upbeat set of European Café Jazz.

The final event was on Christmas Eve at Eddie Toole Reserve and one local said it was a beautiful day to enjoy the performance by local Clarinet quartet, The Claritudes.

“I drank hot chocolate under the shade of a tree in Main Street Bacchus Marsh listening to the lovely music,” Maddingley resident Margaret Scarff told the Moorabool News.

“Thank you to Moorabool Shire Council and the musicians,” she said.

Throughout December Council encouraged everyone to “Grab a coffee, a picnic and a couple of friends and come to Ballan and Bacchus Marsh and be entertained by some great tunes brought to you by our local musicians.”
