TikTok time for Ballarat businesses
THE Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry has partnered with social media platform TikTok to bring a new business program to Ballarat.
It’s Time for TikTok, an interactive breakfast event on Tuesday 30 July, will aim to offer local people in enterprise the chance to learn about the app and how they can use it to boost their business.
“Many members tell us that money is tight and times are tough, so finding new ways to reach customers is vital for growth,” said Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry chief executive, Paul Guerra.
“The recently released TikTok Economic Impact Report found that more than three and a half million people visited a restaurant, and up to three million purchased a product or service, in just one month because they discovered it on TikTok.
“We want our business chamber members to get a piece of that real world impact.”
Businesses involved in the program will be able to hear from and ask questions of others using the app to grow their brand, and then access online training modules after the event.
The training will cover how to set up a TikTok account, how to make a video on the platform, and how to connect with users on the app.
“From lawn mowers to landscapers, bakers to bookshops, mechanics, fashion, food and tourism, the list [of businesses on the platform] is endless,” said TikTok’s head of SMBs, Tora Brophy.
“No matter what type of business, I’d encourage everyone to come along because you never know if your video could be the next viral hit.”
Similar initiatives in Melbourne and Geelong will follow the Ballarat It’s Time for TikTok event. Visit victorianchamber.com.au/
