Top notch new technology

A new $8 million STEM centre is set to prepare Bacchus Marsh College students for the technology age.
Minister for Education James Merlino and Member for Melton Steve McGhie visited the Moorabool school on Thursday, 18 July to inspect the new and upgraded facilities.
The new amenites include a new Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) centre and Material Technology building, which includes a workshop and resources for students to experience hands-on learning within design and construction.
“These new and upgraded facilities at Bacchus Marsh College will nurture new passions for STEM subjects and prepare students for their future careers,” said Minister Merlino.
“Every student deserves access to modern school facilities and that’s what we have delivered for Bacchus Marsh College.”
Member for Melton Steve McGhie said the new STEM centre “will give Bacchus Marsh College the modern facilities it deserves to better meet the needs of students and teachers.”
“Our local schools are doing a fantastic job educating the next generation of leaders. These new facilities will open even more doors for our local students,” he said.
The facilities are set to be officially opened later this year.
