Upgrade ready any day ‘meow’

The cat has been let out of the bag – much-needed upgrades at the pound are almost complete.

The upgrades began in mid-August, and internal walls have been added or removed as needed, painting is complete, and the entrance way has been finished.

New cattery cages will be delivered mid-October, a new entrance way and security door have also been marked out and ordered.

While the works are underway, the pound has a limited capacity to take in cats – if you believe you urgently need to bring a cat into the pound, contact Community Safety on 5366 7100 to discuss.

The works are expected to almost triple the pound’s capacity to house cats, and are due to be complete around the end of the month.
