Wearing a mask is still okay

COVID-19 is still with us, and some people are at higher risk of severe illness.

Wearing a mask in high-risk settings like hospitals, aged care and disability care facilities helps protect people from catching and spreading viral infections.

So, if you’re asked to wear a mask, please consider those around you.

On top of wearing a mask and getting vaccinated, those deemed at higher risk of severe illness from COVID-19 are also eligible for oral antiviral treatments, taken as tablets or capsules at home.

You may be eligible for oral antiviral treatments if you’re 70 years or older, 50 years or older with two risk factors, and First Nations person 30 years or older with two risk factors, or 18 years or older and immunocompromised.
