The Conservation Regulator is seeking information from the public after two eastern grey kangaroos were allegedly shot with arrows on private property at Ryans Road, Healesville on Sunday 19 June 2022.

A young female kangaroo was found deceased, while a large male survived, with his condition being monitored.

In Victoria all wildlife is protected under the Wildlife Act 1975 and it is illegal to hunt, take, destroy, injure or interfere with wildlife and severe penalties apply.

The maximum penalty for hunting, taking or destroying wildlife ranges from $8,261 to $41,305 and/or six to 24 months’ imprisonment.
