Windy wicked wintry weather

A week of wild weather hit Moorabool last week, resulting in a number of emergency calls to local SES services.
SES confirmed to the Moorabool News that the Midwest District, which encompasses Ballarat, Ballan and Bacchus Marsh surrounds, received 101-calls for assistance over the 24-hour period of 10–12 July.
Majority of call-outs related to trees down, including one near the Freeway at Pykes Creek on the morning of Thursday, 11 July.
Ballan received 17.2mm of rain on the night of Wednesday, 10 July, with Bacchus Marsh receiving 5.6mm.
Winds were the danger factor throughout the night, with Bacchus Marsh receiving gusts of up to 80km/h in the early hours of the morning.
