Workshop to plan for bushfires
While bushfires might not be at the top of people’s minds with the recent rain, the threat is still there, and a free workshop this month will help locals plan ahead.
CFA, in collaboration with the Moorabool Catchment Landcare Group (MCLG), have invited the community to attend a free Bushfire Planning Workshop at the Ballan Community House, from 7 – 8.30 pm on Wednesday 16 November.
Aimed mainly for people who live or work in high bushfire risk areas, the workshop will support attendees to build an increased understanding of local bushfire risk, gain a basic understanding of bushfire behaviour relevant to their context/environment,
identify personal limitations and barriers to bushfire preparedness, understand what a plan is and what it should contain, reassess intentions and decisions and start a written plan, have an awareness of available resources and tools to further assist bushfire preparedness, and increase skills and knowledge to develop a plan.
