A big weekend of Ballan cricket
LAST weekend saw Ballan Cricket Club achieve two wins, two losses and one tie.
The Ballan 1st XI defeated Coronet after winning the toss and electing to bowl with a slow, unpredictable wicket.
Captain Hayden Micallef took nine wickets overall with other contributions from Kobe Heafield, Brady Naeff and Eli Muir.

Brady Naeff scored 30 runs, Jack McGregor 26, Ryan Lister 22, and Jack Jarvis 22.
The final result saw Ballan defat Coronet with 162, and 138 and 4/100 respectively.

The under 13s also took home a win scoring 5/127 to defeat Napoleons-Sebastopol who scored 4/89
The senor 2nd XI tied with Golden Point on 6/173.
Matt Shugg made 80 runs, Matt Ayres 40 and Stu Grigg 18.
Golden Point needed one run to win and Grigg, fielded cleanly at mid-on and executed a direct hit run out causing a tie.
The senior women were defeated by Mount Clear scoring 82 and 187 respectively.

Summer and Sarah took four wickets each and Sarah was awarded player of the week.
The under 15s were defeated by Wendouree with a score 54 for Ballan and 9/146 for Wendouree.
