The Community Bank Bacchus Marsh – Bendigo Bank Gift was held prior to competition commencing last Saturday morning.  The fastest athletes from the Under 7 to Under 16 age groups competed in a handicap 100m event.  There were 2 races – Girls and Boys.

Athletes and supporters lined the front straight, as they cheered on their club/age group representatives.  Under 12 athlete Ava Radolovic took out the Girls Gift, while Under 7 athlete Jacob Cassar was the winner of the Boys Gift.

The winners were presented with a shield while 1st, 2nd and 3rd were presented with sashes by the Community Bank manager, Ian Prince. All competitors were presented with certificates of participation.

GIRLS

1st Ava Radolovic (U12), 2nd Skyla Berryman (U9), 3rd Mackenzie Estlick (U14), 4th Mya Berryman (U8), 5th Halo Arahanga (U10), 6th Myah Estlick (U11), 7th Emma Stewart (U15), 8th Sadie Jones (U13), 9th Rylee Robinson (U7), 10th Emma Smith (U16).

BOYS

1st Jacob Cassar (U7), 2nd Alex Lloyd (U14), 3rd Lucas Priestly (U8), 4th Nelson Banigo (U13), 5th Elliot Banigo (U11), 6th Harrison Lovett (U10), 7th Nate Broadbent (U9), 8th Nicholas Mai (U12), 9th Matthew Elefterescu (U15), 10th Lincoln Braszell (U16).

Once the gifts were completed, the weekly competition was underway.  This was the final meet prior to the Centre Championship Day to be held this Saturday.

Bridie Shanahan increased her Under 16 Shot Put record by almost a metre. All three of Bridie’s throws bettered her previous record. A final throw of 11.01 metres set the new Centre record.

Mabel Brody-Wall was awarded the PB Star of the Week, recording 5 PBs for the meet.

This Saturday will be the Centre Championship Day at Masons Lane Reserve.  All qualified athletes must register their attendance with their team manager by 8.15am.  Athletes who fail to register will be deemed absent and scratched from all events.

Championship events will conclude at approximately 2.30pm.  Athletes from all Clubs will then come together for the official Centre end of season presentations.
