Ballan Cricket Club 2023/24 Season Awards

ON SATURDAY 23 March, the Ballan Cricket Club gathered as one for their end of season awards night.

More than 120 gathered in our new club rooms at the Ballan Recreation Reserve, supported by the committee and wonderful catering from Graze-Ballan. This was the first year not extensively interrupted by weather or COVID or no rooms for over four years.

There was plenty to celebrate. Our First XI came still on a high, from their remarkable grand-final win from 4^th spot on the ladder, the weekend before.

We also inducted the much-loved Troy Connor as life member. His longstanding contribution as a player, both junior and senior, 2nds captain, Blasters and junior coach, committee member and President were formally recognised.

We also were glad to give our club President David Leach, our best club person of the year, whose tireless work, while battling serious illness made him an obvious and outstanding candidate.

We also recognised Lachie and Michael Snaith who gave amazing contributions to our first XI, in midst of great loss. We were honoured with the presence of many Life Members, including John Molesworthy from the 1970s, who also addressed us.
