Following their departure, first gamer for Ballan, and under 11s coach Marty Phillips. came to the crease. Phillips finished on 6 not out, putting together runs with Josh Singh 13, Angus Britt 1 and JB on 1 not out. Ballan finished on a respectable 9/141.
The Fire Brigade openers started with a flourish but Burton took two catches in quick succession off both Jake and Thom which put them on the back foot. Wernicke proceeded to pick up four more wickets, including being on a hat-trick.
