Ballan 178 v Burrumbeet 1-16

Batting – Ryan Lister 40*, Mark Kennedy 34, Jack Jarvis 32, Eli Muir 18
Bowling – Hayden Micallef 6-2-1-9, Jack Jarvis 6-2-0-5

Burrumbeet won the toss and Ballan was sent into bat.

Jack McGregor looked good at the top of the order before falling to a ripper catch.

Good bowling and fielding from Burrumbeet made things very difficult for Ballan.

The ship was settled by Mark Kennedy (34) and Jack Jarvis (32) who both batted brilliantly well to give Ballan a bit of an edge, before both fell just before the tea break.

In what was probably his best innings for the club, Ryan Lister (40*) came to the crease and was absolutely fantastic with his attitude and shot selection really standing out.

He stood up and contributed with key partnerships with Dan Pascoe (14) and Eli Muir (18) who also was fantastic with the bat down the order.

Some very handy runs indeed for Ballan who were eventually dismissed for 178 which was a very competitive total in what were very trying conditions.

Burrumbeet had to face 13 overs to conclude the days play and it was Jack Jarvis and Hayden Micallef who didn’t give much away with the new ball.

Hayden snagged a wicket late on in the day to give Ballan a lift of confidence.

Burrumbeet finishing 1-16 off the 13 overs and sets up a very interesting week 2 of this game with it definitely being all in the balance.
