BCC women play last match of the season

THE Ballan Cricket Club women’s team played its last match for the season last week in which it was defeated by second-placed Brown Hill.

The first wicket fell in the seventh over, a bowled by Summer Dehnert, before Sarah Buron took an LBW with the next ball.

Mark Kennedy, 1/32 off 11 overs.

 

Dehnert took two wickets in total, and Nadene Shugg took one with Brown Hill finishing on 4-171.

Sarah Burton scored 34 runs, Rebecca Humphryis 30, Kori Davenport 22 and Sami Munari 15, with Ballan finishing on 4-113 and in fifth place on the ladder.

The Senior 1st XI took on Burrumbeet at home, where one of the batters achieved a score of more than 150 not out as the team finished on 5-339.

It will be Ballan’s turn to bat this weekend.

Ballan’s best bowler for the day, Brady Naeff with 2/41 off 16 overs.

 

Ballan’s Senior 2nd XI was defeated by Lucas with scores of 6-208 and 4-307 respectively.

Param Singh scored his fifth half-century of the season.

In the under-13s, Ballan 5-60 was defeated by Mt Clear 6-118.

The under-15s two-day match will continue this weekend.

Ballan scored 5-70 while Ballarat Redan scored 4-161, with 25 overs each left to bat.
