Bell wins calisthenics Coach of the Year
CHELSEA Bell, Coach of the Senior Team with local calisthenic club Pentland Calisthenics College was recently named as Divisions 8 to 11 and Recreational Coach of the Year for 2023.
A wonderful achievement for her first year of coaching the team.
“I feel so honoured to have received this award. It doesn’t quite feel real,” she said.
“I feel so grateful to have quite literally grown up a member of Pentland CC. The committee are so supportive and I am grateful for their belief in me.
“I have been mentored by some amazing coaches, all of whom have shaped me into the coach I am today and I would also like to thank my gorgeous mum who has played a big role in my cali journey.
“It was so special to share this achievement with her tonight.”
We are so pleased for Chelsea. She started her calisthenics journey with us as a Sub Junior and it was a natural progression for her to become a helper and she joined the coaching team in that capacity in 2012 before attaining her coaching accreditation, securing her first fully fledged coaching role in 2018.
Over the years she has worked with all age groups taking on the Seniors for the first time in 2023.
She has had success at all levels but 2023 was a real highlight with the senior team winning three of their four competitions including the State Titles.
Good coaches are not just measured on results at competitions. Chelsea is an incredibly student focused coach, her priority is always the performer and their needs.
She displays amazing sportmanship at all times and ensures that her teams do the same, always congratulating other performers and giving them encouragement to do their best.
She is an impeccable leader at Pentland, a wonderful role model and mentor to both performers and coaches within the club. She has given much to the sport of calisthenics.
Chelsea is truly deserving of this award – we are so incredibly proud of her.
