Central Highlands Netball League – Lightning Premiership

We had just under 200 girls and boys aged 12 and under participate in the Lightning Premiership round robin competition on Sunday 19 May at Learmonth.

With 21 teams entered, we had 4 pools which were made up of the following:

Pool A – Ballan, Buninyong, Creswick 2, Hepburn 1, Rokewood 1, Waubra

Pool B – Beaufort 1, Carngham, Daylesford, Hepburn 2, Rokewood 2

Pool C – Beaufort 2, Springbank, Dunnstown, Learmonth, Skipton

Pool D – Bungaree, Creswick 1, Gordon, Newlyn, Clunes

The first final game saw the winner of Pool A play the winner of Pool B which was Waubra v Beaufort 1. The score was Waubra – 6 def Beaufort 1 – 2.

The second final game saw the winner of Pool C play the winner of Pool D which was Skipton v Creswick 1. The score was Skipton – 4 def Creswick 1 – 2.

The weather changed and the Grand Final was played in moist conditions.

The Grand Final match was Waubra v Skipton with the result Waubra – 5 defeating Skipton 0.
