Challenging conditions for Ballan cricketers

IT was a rainy and challenging weekend for Ballan Cricket Club, with a series of washouts and losses.

The Senior 2nd XI was defeated by VRI Delacombe with scores of 8-101 and 6-222 respectively.

Max Burton took 3-12 off three overs, John Costello finished on 28 not out, and Jordan Meier scored 21 runs and David Leach 14.

The senior women scored 5-77 and were defeated by Redan 2-204 in the first of three T20 games to conclude the season.

S. Dehnert ended on 26 not out while K. Davenport scored 14 runs and S. Munari 11.

Dehnert also took 1-30 off four overs.

The under-13s were defeated by Coronet City with scores of 5-42 and 5-151 respectively.

The first day of the under-15s game against Mount Clear was abandoned after nine overs due to rain.

They will play shortened overs to finish the match this week.

The Ballan 1st XI was also washed out and the two-day game will become a one-day fixture.
